I see my creative work as a gift that flows through me from another realm. By allowing my art to flow onto the page I find amazing things happen. I truly feel my work is a passionate expression of the energy of life and the spiritual connection I feel with the world.
I love vivid colors, undulating lines and contrasts in texture, light and shadow. While some of my art is inspired by natural forms such as flowers, I never try to draw or paint exactly what I see. Instead I try to express the energy of what I feel.
Most of my original work is quite large - around 3x4 feet, and larger. I also am commissioned to do murals, and find it easy to convert a small image into a huge, wall-sized piece! I say I can make a mountain out of a molehill!
I have always been a totally creative person. In kindergarden I remember standing in the art supply room at school thinking "if ONLY I could be locked in here overnight with all these art supplies!" Some things never change!
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and lived there most of my life with a few years scattered in Houston, TX and Carmel, CA. Last year I moved to the Seattle area, and I am getting used to the change in climate! I hope to live in either France or Italy at some point, as I feel a very deep connection to both those places and their vibrant, passionate approach to life.
I love to encourage and inspire others to use their own original creativity and believe we all have something important to say in a creative way. Art can change the world! Go and create!
